Markus Margreiter, MD FEBU

Prof. Markus Margreiter was born in Vienna and received his MD doctorate at the Medical University of Vienna. After a research fellowship at the Weill Cornell University in New York at the Center of Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery, under Prof. Dr. Peter N. Schlegel, Markus joined the Department of Urology at the Medical University of Vienna in 2006. In addition to his training as a specialist in Urology and Andrology, he completed a clinical fellowship at the Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. His areas of expertise include Andrology, urological oncology and men's health. Besides clinical research activities, he is interested in the promotion of men's health and sports. Prof. Margreiter is the founder of Urology in Motion and an enthusiastic sportsman. He races regularly and has already completed several sports events including the ING New York Marathon.

Alex Farr, MD PhD

Besides his studies at the Medical University of Vienna and the George Washington University, Washington DC, Dr. Farr was working as a research fellow in Urology at the General University Hospital of Vienna, collaborating in various projects with the New York University School of Medicine. After medical school Dr. Farr was working for 2 years as a resident doctor at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Clinic Munich, Germany, before he changed to the Medical University of Vienna (General Hospital). His postgraduate PhD thesis was dedicated to the effect of body weight in women with chemotherapy for breast cancer. He constantly publishes his scientific work in various medical journals, and presents his results at international conferences. He holds a position as an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of Vienna. As a founding member and secretary of Urology in Motion, Alex organizes charity sports events with a high level of enthusiasm and perfectionism.

Verena Margreiter, LLM

Dr. Verena Margreiter studied law at the University of Vienna Law School and holds an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School. She has worked several years as a consultant in a leading international consulting firm and as a Mergers&Acquisitions and Capital Markets Lawyer in a large Austrian law firm. Following the birth of her daugther Emilia in 2007 she started to work as a Professional Development Manager at the consulting firm where she started her professional career. Dr. Margreiter is passionate swimmer. She participates regularly in national and international competitions such as the World Masters Championship 2010 in Göteborg, Sweden. 

Marc Goldstein, MD FACS

A summa cum laude graduate of the College of Medicine, State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Goldstein worked as a resident in general surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York. After three years overseas in the US Air Force, attaining the rank of Major and flying in F4 Phantom aircraft as a Flight Surgeon, Dr. Goldstein was trained in urology at Downstate Medical Center. He continued his postgraduate training in reproductive physiology at the Population Council, Center for Biomedical Research, located on the campus of Rockefeller University, and at the Rockefeller University Hospital.

Dr. Goldstein is internationally known for his pioneering work in vasectomy reversals and microsurgical repair of varicoceles and blockages. He has performed over 1,200 microsurgical vaso-vasostomies and vaso-epididymostomies. His technique of microsurgical vasectomy reversal, as published in peer reviewed journals, yields the highest reported sperm return and pregnancy rates. He developed a microsurgical technique of varicocelectomy in 1984 and has performed over 3,000 cases with the lowest reported failure and complication rates. He was the first American surgeon to be trained in, and perform, the Chinese method of No-Scalpel Vasectomy in 1985 and recently introduced the No-Needle, No-Scalpel Vasectomy technique to the Northeast.

Dr. Goldstein is a long distance runner and triathlete who races regularly and has completed 20 New York City Marathons and 8 triathlons. Dr. Goldstein is a honorary member of Urology in Motion.
